[Doji Hametsu]

"I would not begin to imagine otherwise, Shireikan." He looked away and took his second drink. "We do have some in the 4th with excelling arm strength, as it happens. I have noticed Agasha Daikumo and Daidoji Nobu both demonstrating quite a bit of prowess on that front."

[Osoroshii]

"I'd heard a bit about the Agasha," Osoroshii replies, refilling cups. "Good smith. Seems to have a problem with tent pegs or somesuch thing, though."

A chuckle.

"He, I think, will do well where we're heading. Especially if he and a Kaiu get to going."

[Doji Hametsu]

Hametsu nods. "Indeed." A beat. "Speaking of cooperation with the Crab, another Dragon samurai, Kitsuki Edogawa, mentioned having some concerns about how well the Legion will be received by Crab samurai on the Wall. Questions of honor and pride may arise, and we both feel that a revision of standard procedures to reflect our operating in a culturally Crab area, with all of the sensitivities that implies, may be necessary."

[Osoroshii]

"Not sure 'sensitivity' is the word I'd use with most Crab," Osoroshii says, "but you're not wrong in concept. Does your chui know about this?"

A couple of bowls of rice and plates of age, pickles, and bamboo shoots arrive at the table.

[Doji Hametsu]

"Not as yet. The festival seems to have snarled the formal channels fairly comprehensively."

[Osoroshii]

"Itadakimasu," Osoroshii says, and pulls chopsticks from inside his sleeve.

"You really should eat, Doji-san," he adds, and he begins to serve himself.

"And you're right about the festival," he continues. "But isn't it fun?"

[Doji Hametsu]

Ain't life grand?

Hametsu covered his dislike of the crowds of people by digging into the food.

"It is an experience, Shireikan. I wondered if you might have time to meet Kitsuki Edogawa sometime tomorrow?"

[Osoroshii]

"I might," Osoroshii allows around a mouthful of bamboo. "About what?"

[Doji Hametsu]

"Concerning this business of aligning the legion with Crab expectations."

[Osoroshii]

Osoroshii does not know the future, of course, or it seems like he shouldn't, so he nods and swallows.

"Well, see if you can catch up to me tomorrow on the march. I'm usually not too far from the Rikugunshokan, unless he's got me handling something for him."

He grins.

"You might even get to meet Seppun Fumin."

[Doji Hametsu]

Hametsu bowed his head. "I look forward to the possibility, Shireikan. Thank you."

[Osoroshii]

"Oh, you'll like him," Osoroshii says. "I think you two'd get along famously, in fact."

He refills.

"Try the pickles. They're quite good."
