And as my sensei says, 'An army that begins a march believing itself defeated will be.' So that only leaves one possibility one wishes to consider. Of course there are permutations but without the foreknowledge granted to the Heavens themselves, it is simpler to think of it in such terms."

She takes a moment to consider her fan.

"But Doji-san's point is quite valid. I wonder how Doji-san's own obvious skills at oratory would describe the legion's victory?" she poses.

"I think framing it in the context of an unimpeachable historical precedent is probably the wisest option. 'A glorious campaign in the tradition of, or perhaps in honor of, Hantei Fujiwa,' is the first that comes to mind."

While I'm sure command will recognize those who distinguish themselves very openly, I believe it helpful to sometimes be able to add words of support for those who need more attention called to their deeds."

Delivering a Message to the outriders of the Legion would have been harder if she was not able to just ask the birds where they had ridden, but so it was easy enough to deliver the message to their commander.
