Bridge Battle (at the bridge; day 5 MM)

[Daidoji Nobu]

The big Daidoji joined the defenders of the bridge, anchoring himself at the center of the formation. There, Nobu adopted a flexible defense; he gave ground as the attackers charged the line, but only enough that the attackers then became surrounded by the defenders and enveloped by their formation. More than one attacker found themselves bouncing off of the big Crane’s massive belly, or getting their momentum deflected by the man’s sturdy arms.

Nobu laughed cheerfully as another wave of attackers was pushed back. This was fun!

[Usagi Kaigen]

He saw a large, friendly Crane among the defenders. Someone he regarded well, a good man, from what he knew, and a solid, dependable soldier on the march thus far. One of the only members of the Legion it was easy to spot from halfway across the camp.

So naturally, Kaigen joined the other side.

"LET'S GET 'EM!"

The Hare might have been relatively thin, but he proved to be composed almost entirely of whipcord muscle, and he got a good head of steam up as he led the next charge, shoving several defenders back through the magic of momentum.

Yoshiko joined in to defend the bridge. "C'on and try to pass the wall." The Hida said in a playful voice. She stopped one of the attackers that tried to breach the bridge. "Ha... good try~!"

[Isawa Mari]

On her way to a meeting, Mari was caught by the sight of the familiar game. Maybe it did have some echoes bearing on their task? Surely it would be a good omen for the fight ahead if they were able to defend the bridge here?

Ribbons fluttering, she finds a spot in the defenders line to join, setting her feet solidly and muttering a short request to the earth for stability, she prepares to push back the playful attack, knowing that her size meant she was likely to be seen as a weak point. It was good to be underestimated, as her Kami's twin had long taught his followers. Relying on her companions as well as the earth beneath her, she made sure she wasn't actually the point of failure today...may it be reflected in the days ahead as well.

[Hida Masayuki]

Masayuki sees the game lining up and gives no second thought to joining the defenders. He sees Nobu joining down the line as well and is heartened. Just let them try and break through!

As the attacker comes flying forward. Masayuki is not moved from his spot, stopping the attacker in his tracks. The attacker and defender both have a good friendly laugh.

[Agasha Daikumo]

Daikumo was there, trying to use his size to his advantage and defend the bridge, but that's the only advantage he has and he's not great at leveraging it in this game. He finds himself being baited and forced to move around more than he's used to and ends up running out of steam. A short sprint is all well and good, but defending a position against more fit opponents is hard work he's not used to.

Failed, no effect, opportunity offsets strife

[Utaku Mukai]

Mukai's temperament did not bode well for serving as a defender so, instead, she embraced her inner pony and charged (thankfully, for the defenders, without her mount) breaking through a weak point.

It was not a spectacular showing but it was an adequate one.
