A lot had happened but Hikimasu had managed to relax as time went on. He had gotten to know some of his comrades, he had helped the legion prep for the journey. He ate dinner already, he was preparing to lay down for a little before going to some meeting or another in the middle of the night.

Why was his clan so bothersome?

He sat on his tatami and stretched his arms a little then laid back on them, giving Kheree a look. Something had clearly happened, but he didn’t know what.

"So."

"It seems I am not made for intelligence , at least by the fan whispers that assume my horse would be better at it" she sighs .
"And the hospital asked me not to be there after i distracted people . " she sighs again "delivering messages and working with bayushi san was the only thing where I did not lose face today . "
He could see by the tension on her that she must have come close to losing controll , and by the way that her face paint was still on her face .

Well, horses are smart animals...and of course you distract people, I do double takes all the time. I turn around and wonder why this beautiful woman is in my tent and assume I'm about to be blackmailed.

Still, despite his imaginative reasoning, Hikimasu was a husband now. He needed to actually say something. He cleared his throat and sat up straight.

"I couldn't do anything to help logistics, either", he offered. "I passed by and there were men moving heavy things, they asked me to bring my horse by and lend a hand. A samurai's horse pulling a litter, hmm? Yudaina would have disowned me."

"He would , and refuse to work unless bribed to do so, but " she sighs . " I feel useless here compared to the Mia and my Gempukto as back home all of it seemed so much , as if my work Mattered ." She sighted I didn't even talk with the Mantis Taisho because I heard her badly talking about the strange name of another unicorn and I was already feeling like something that you wash away from your boots after stepping into it.

Hikimasu listened intently, but appeared relaxed. He felt the twinge though, the sudden and visceral need to say something very emotional in response to the idea that upjumped pirate puff had the nerve to make fun of someone's name.

Yet though he didn't say something of that sort, he shuffled toward Kheree and placed his arms on her shoulders. "Dear, you haven't a need to worry about that. You are a Scorpion now. People who make fun of Scorpion tend to regret it. Treat them with respect, a happy sort of upbeat demeanor, and people will be sure to treat you the same." To illustrate, he smiled until it touched his eyes, it was everything that was polite, and everything that wasn't.

"So simply do your best, and ask others if there is something you need help with. We are all samurai here, and your work does matter. Show effort, be courteous, and no one can say anything."

She offered him a smile in return and turned a bit to put her hand against his hair, resting her head against his as she moved .
"Thank you , And I know that but ... Maybe its just the difference in how my old clan was seen and how my new clan is seen there, and how people react to either there that makes me feel a bit lost . Just like with your Taishou back home.."

"Mitsuki-sama is...well, a completely different sort", he said after a a moment and pulled the woman in closer, rubbing her back. "That's quite a ways away right now."

Still, he understood. Though he had to admit he was happier to be where they were and not in that situation anymore. He sighed gave her a head pat. "Try to remember, others will treat you a certain way simply due to the color of your kimono, but it works to your advantage as well. People are often very careful not to offend a Scorpion who seems kind."

She made a soft satisfied noise as he did so, he was a good boy in that regard after all and so she started to relax more and more as he did so
"I know you are right, it is just different because, I felt more out like a outsider at your home, and so it was different then the way I was one here, Like with the coded scorpion letters that we got and that was for this meeting that you had mentioned..."

"Well, it's certainly not easy going from one new place to another, but you do come from a people of travelers", Hikimasu offered, still holding Kheree. "The unfamiliar here I think is quite different from your home, as no one here has a home advantage, so to speak."

"That is true , and maybe I am just feeling adrift and so think a wind is instead a storm, but then I got a rock to nestle myself against " she did so , soft warm curves pressing against him as she turned to put a arm around him.

"Good, we should rely on one another", he agreed. "I won't leave you be, loyalty is highly valued among our people, you know."
