While leading and communicating was not exactly Mukai's strong point she definitely had plenty to provide on the topic of survival and how to best divide up their efforts on that front.

Daikumo was calmed down now from his earlier outburst but he was mostly as taciturn as always anyway. Perhaps he's never in a good mood? Either way, right now he's working on setting up a small announcement board for the members of the legion to read, so he seems to be relieving some anger while hammering some posts into the ground and putting up the small structure... until he slips up and pinches his thumb with one of his hammer strikes. He doesn't shout, he doesn't get mad, he just looks a the post with an accusing glare and says, "I swear, on my entire line, that when you are no longer needed on this march I will break you up into little pieces, grind you into mulch, and use you as kindling to burn human waste. I hate you post." He goes back to hammering after giving his promise.

Hikimasu aided efforts at the Operations Tent by handing in a report to the watch officer on how scouting groups could signal each other more reliably as they moved as an advanced force ahead of the legion. Of course, he'd gone into the tent, and been surrounded by various people moving about and talking, the relative chaos of the morning dealt ambient emotional damage to him, as usual. Though it wasn't anything he couldn't handle...this time.
After a bow, he took note of the Utaku who had just finished giving a dissertation on survival to a group of aids just outside the tent. Normally, he would move on, but as he'd been surprised in general by his interactions with the Unicorn since his time at the Kyuden Shika omiai, he offered the northern samurai a bow.
"Good morning, Utaku-san", he said politely. "A fine morning in the legion, I am Shosuro Hikimasu, fifth Kaisha. You gave good advice."

There was a sound behind the large Dragon. One that was likely pleasing to many, but not to him. The sound of laughter behind a fan.
"My, my, Agasha-san. In plays, I've heard quite talented actors swear vengence for their beloved, for their family, their clan, the Emperor themselves...and yet I don't believe they came close to matching your passionate vow to a piece of wood. Consider me impressed." says a voice belonging to a young woman.

by Doji Hametsu
One of Hametsu's core responsibilities is the consistent and timely transmission of orders, whether from on high to Daidoji Kumiko, or from Daidoji Kumiko to the junior officers of the 4th kaisha. Today, he presented himself precisely when required, received the tranche of orders with a crisp bow, and moved quickly and efficiently to deliver them to Daidoji Kumiko. In her presence, he broke the seal and, speaking at precisely the speed and tone in which information is most efficiently absorbed in the Rokugani language, he enumerated the tasks required of the kaisha by the Rikugunshokan and then carefully took down the refinements and permutations she required of her subordinates. This concluded, he moved among the tents of the 4th kaisha, personally ensuring that each order was received at the appointed time.
No mistakes.
No inefficiencies.
No problem.

"Of course, wouldn't give it if it wasn't." The response was a bit curt but did not seem to carry intentional arrogance nor insult - she was a little stressed but still far from a breaking point. It did take a second for Mukai to realize her shortcoming however and return the bow, "Sorry, Utaku Mukai, of the Second."

"I appear to have misheard the instruction."
The Hare's expression betrayed nothing- not distress, not gremlinish delight, nothing at all.

"Still, a proper bit of work. I work more on the signals end, information and all so I appreciate hearing more practical instructions for field work. Were you assigned to the Junghar previous to this?"

Even trying to remember manners she can't help but snort, "I should be so lucky. No, prior to this I was on backwoods duty... kuso division." She shakes her head, "Not complaining, really, I enjoyed it more than I was likely supposed to and it comes in handy now."

The Scorpion's eyebrow shifted a touch. "Apologies, Utaku-san. I thought the Junghar was a corps of the vassals of the Khan that defended the lands of the Unicorn clan. I was unaware there were different divisions that were not attached to it. In Scorpion lands we are all assigned to Crimson Legions, even if we aren't based out of their camps. I suppose it's more a matter of who we answer to, not what duty we were given."

Mukai's brow furrowed slightly. She had heard the Scorpion were tricksters, liars, and cheats but she couldn't quite see the end goal here, "Some within the White Horde use such terms for their divisions. I would have been within the Purple if given such a military assignment." She
had given her name when she introduced herself... right? "But, no, my role was more akin to a magistrate." Not that her family would even give her
that much authority or title either. No, let the brave Utaku Mukai protect the peasants of the province from confused bears or perhaps a slightly peevish boar.

He turns to look at the person that addressed him and gives them a neutral look. Not maintaining On or anything else, just doesn't seem to have an opinion one way or another about this new acquaintance. "If I could go after it's ancestors or descendents, they wouldn't be safe either. This piece of wood has truly irked me," Daikumo responds. "On the bright side, I'll bring the same energy to the enemies of the legion."

by Hida Masayuki
Hida Masayuki joins the tent and absorbs the strategic plan. He is comfortable speaking on this topic based on his knowledge and experience. He concurred with the arrangement of the kaishas and suggests arranging troops by strengths for effectiveness. Scouts in the lead, with one behind. Archers to the outside and foot soldiers to the inside, based on ability, while certainly they each may have both skills. Horse troops to protect the carts and supplies in addition to the teamsters. All these will allow for quick response times in the event of unplanned encounters as well as keeping the march moving efficiently.

by Isawa Mari
Oddly unobtrusive, considering the ribbons, Mari arrives to summarize the readiness of the medical equipment to move, how many last minute injuries will require remaining in the village, and a reminder that a cool morning doesn't mean it's autumn yet and the medics have been instructed to mock those neglecting themselves enough to drop of heatstroke. The information is relayed efficiently despite a nervous stammer at speaking among so many of greater status, particularly given the implied rudeness under the oh-so-politely worded heatstroke warning.

it was a very richly dressed maiden of the Otomo who seemed a mixture of amused and intrigued.
"An idea that is equally inspiring and fascinating, Agasha-san." she offered with a small fleeting grin. "Perhaps I am witnessing the birth of a legend...the Legionnaire Logger, who is destined to turn even the mightest of foes into mere kindling."
She offered a small bow.
"This one is Otomo Hana of the 6th Kaisha. I am happy to be on your side, Kikori-san." she offered.

He returned the bow, realizing that he really should the first of them to bow, but not actually caring enough to apologize for not doing so. " Maybe so, Otomo-sama. I am Agasha Daikumo, a fresh recruit for the fourth Kaisha. Mostly a healer and a smith. If you find yourself in need of repairs for your weapons or armor, bother me anytime. I like hitting things with hammers. My favorite hobby. You need a hand with anything right now Otomo-sama?"

Hana looked thoughtfully at the Dragon.
"Hmmmm, well let's see Agasha-san." she offers. "I am in good health, so I don't need your services as a healer, the smith's art is a time-consuming one, so I can't ask you to make me something right now, I don't want to be hit with a hammer nor have anyone or anything hit with a hammer right now...."
She offered a small, though graceful shrug.
"While not his favorite pasttime, perhaps Agasha-san would be willing to share his thoughts on the current state of affairs....while continuing his reign of terror upon possibly related pieces of wood? I was most recently posted to Pale Oak Castle, so my knowledge of things in Dragon lands isn't as stale as someone whose never left the capital, but surely not as in-depth as one who bears their mon." she requests.

"So, peacekeeping", the Scorpion nodded. "Not an unlucky posting, but sometimes without excitement." He seemed to ponder it a bit, then decided that it was likely incredibly troublesome. "Any good stories?"

Edogawa quietly assisted in
dispersing orders as necessary. He wasn't the only one, of course. But, he fully understood the need for redundancy, to ensure nothing was missed. Of course, being quiet didn't mean he wasn't paying attention to things happening around him.

"Well, the smith's art also includes maintenance and care. Creation is the only aspect that takes an exorbitant amount of time. We also do stuff to improve fit and to protect gear while traveling. A nice layer of oil on a blade or armor will keep it moving smoothly and protected from water or dust damage," Daikumo points out.
His tone becomes somewhat contemplative as he gathers his thoughts to share them. He mostly keeps his emotions in check when sharing his view and what the dragon are experiencing right now. "As to how things are going among the dragon, They are much the same as they usually are. Information trickles from the champion While we continue going about our day-to-day lives. We contemplate and we consider as individuals and in discussions the knowledge that is shared with us. And we await orders while going about our lives. It is certainly a time of mourning and upheaval, we recognize, but we look to the sky and see that Lord Moon has not stopped chasing Lady Sun, the stars continue to shine, and the enemies of the empire continue to create problems. It would not honor the legacy of the emperor to fall into chaos, and so we do our best to continue on the path that lies before us by our ancestors. And we will be dragons, in all that that entails. Whether that means showing wisdom when necessary or ferocity if needed. But I believe that the general consensus among many dragon is likely as complex as it is in the rest of the empire at this moment, I imagine. Although I feel like I haven't truly answered what you were trying to learn."
