You'd know a thing or two about pirates wouldn't you.
The thought flashes darkly but Yoshi does his best to keep any signs of it off his face, keeping in
on in place.
"Nothing quite as dramatic Taicho-sama." Rank was a little sketchy, but that seemed a decent guess. "It seemed prudent to free as many assets before my arrival. I hope that the difference in quality of service for you makes up for any delay. Shall I begin to acquire some bartering items for us to broker during the march? As we move deeper, we may encounter regions where barter will matter more than coin with the coming harvest."
It was an idea for Karen to possibly steal which was fine by him.
He had no qualms bargaining with peasants.
There was a sharply appraising glance, followed by a small nod.
"That is prudent, Yashi-san." she agrees. "Of course, you will need to both extensively document all such transactions, as well as provide an executive summary of said records. We'll need to be able to know where any particular item is at a moment's notice."
This was followed by a small shrug.
"You know how it is, in an army on the march, after all, sometimes things go missing if not carefully watched. A chicken flies off, a general's broth lacks an egg, the accusations start flying and then...well..."
She offers him a smile which shows teeth but not warmth.
"We wouldn't want a bright young Tortoise hung over an egg, now would we?"
Yoshi could distinctly get the feeling that Karen would not only be delighted to see him hung over an egg, she'd probably sell tickets.
