While Mukai would certainly apply herself to the best of her ability towards all of the duties required for the mustering reporting to Hiruma-sama was certainly the one she felt most applicable to her skill set.

Nor did she fail to demonstrate that she was, indeed, valuable in such endeavors. There was some stress surrounding such an important showing, sure, but nothing unmanageable.

The conversation had been after a couple bottles of sake, but the large Crane decided it would be more tactful to omit that fact from his report.

Coded messages, delicate delivery, understanding subtle signals. It was all going wrong. Interestingly, while the Scorpion are very good at the intelligence game, if you aren't part of that life, dealing with other organization's intelligence practices can be a little aggravating.

"Oh, how do I know we'll be passing through Kohaku Mura? Who can say, maybe it was evident..heh...i mean it's right in our path isn't it? Being a Scorpion also gets you pegged as a spy no matter what you do. Hikimasu hurried out to do the job he was given.

Though somewhat unfamiliar with the route of march, Hametsu was an expert on the legion itself. His comprehensive knowledge of the regulations (both ancient and modern) related to the running of the legion, and who among the legionnaires found themselves most and least suited to them, proved of excellent service to the Intelligence Chief. In this way, problems could be nipped in the bud, future inefficiencies could be mitigated, and the occasional malingerer (there are some in every army) could be corrected before they became a true issue.

The assembled legion was abuzz with conversation. It was impolite to eavesdrop, of course, but some things were impossible not to hear. That was especially true, if one joined in the conversation.

Edogawa had joined in many conversations today. There had been a few revelations in those discussions. The ones that seemed useful were passed along to Hiruma Akako.

"That is my duty and prayer Shosuro-san." The crane says returning the bow, his face still flush from his perceived overstep gave him the appearance of someone who had been burned. "How does this day find you?"

"I would prefer it lose me, but I imagine there will still be plenty to do into the evening", he said smoothly, then sighed very slightly. "It seems they may wish to depart sooner rather than later."

"The chill can be an issue but the journey itself is pleasant and Crane hospitality is well known. I am certain the Scorpion would do no less but my concern is the Shinomen; it is an unknown to me." Hayabe's posture echoed his words as he the ideas in his head caused him to tense.

The last bit of Amatarsu's light lands on Seido Osano-Wo, on the Plain of Thunder. The forest is beyond that, and consequently, it is the thinnest portion of the forest." He tapped his chin a bit. "A cousin of mine lives in Ginasutra, but she doesn't visit the forest often. No one really does unless it is their duty, but it isn't in my lord's domain, hence why it's not spoken of much."

"I see, I may have underestimated the distance between the lands of the Scorpion and the forests boundaries, thank you for enlightening me." He said with no hint of sarcasm. "We'll have enough reasons to watch the shadows."
