[D6, EA, Open] A Brief Spot of Trouble.

by Doji Hametsu
Shortly after the Legion entered the badlands, it became clear that discipline was going to be an issue. Noticing the troubles in kaisha ahead of them, Hametsu took the opportunity to quickly dash out an order for dissemination cancelling the possibility of leave for the kaisha. Now, there was never any question of anyone being permitted leave this close to the Shadowlands, but the shock of losing what had become a right of service in the Legion during the long periods of peace united the kaisha in resentment against Hametsu. And resentment against Hametsu was much, much better than fear in the face of the enemy.

Using opportunities to reduce strife.
+2 to Legion Discipline.

Daidoji Nobu plodded along at the head of the column behind Hametsu, seemingly tireless despite the armor, pole arm, and full pack that he bore. The men in the column grumbled a little at the orders that came down from the adjutant, and even Nobu felt some annoyance that these orders were necessary. But the Legion had just enjoyed a whole day at a village festival, so the big Crane couldn't see that they had much reason to complain.

Turning away from the grumblers, Nobu continued to maintain a steady pace as they marched onwards.

Hida Masayuki was breathing easier today as The Fourth was exercising more discipline and energy after their day off. He watched as the Doji delivered his messages and wondered. Who had leave coming anyway? We just had one. Still, he recognized the wisdom in confirming focus as we enter Crab territory and approach the Shadowlands.

When he looks back at his charges, they are quiet and looking straight ahead. He nods, renews his focus and marches on, scanning for threats as they proceed.

During this time he praises Diadoji Nobu on his leadership and keeping his charges in line. Negating 2 strife for Nobu.

+1 unit Strength, 1 opportunity negates 1 strife, +1 strife, 1 opportunity to remove 2 strife for Daidoji Nobu.

Nobu beamed at the praise, and bowed deeply, a surprisingly graceful move considering the Daidoji's size and armor.

"You are too kind, Hida-san," Nobu said. "I'm just doing the best that I can."

"May I ask, are you from this part of the Crab provinces? I know the domain of the Crab is quite extensive, but I wonder if you are familiar with the terrain here."

"Yes, Daidoji-sama." I hail from a village near to Kyuden Hida. The terrain is hilly and in spots, rocky. Your fitness will be a boon for you here." "The land is mostly barren on the way or scarred from past battles."
