Regardless while the goblin was quick, Nobu moved fast for his size and he would have the chance to strike the first blow!

It one was watching closely, Nobu's ancestral weapon was glowing with the light of Lady Sun as it punched through armor and tainted flesh alike, wounded the goblin deeply.

With a howl of pain and rage, it threw itself at the Crane, determined to take the bearer of such a deadly weapon with him.

Goblin switches to Fire Stance, lowering the TN to hit him to 2. Range is 2 as this is a Naginata vs. Yari fight.

Maybe it was only a sharpened stick, but you could feel the fury of Fu Leng behind it as the Crane's armor kept him standing, if just.

Two bonus successes, and Fire stance, so 4 strife turns into 4 more damage. 5 + 2 + 4 = 11 - 4 (Armor) = 7 Damage dealt to Nobu

The goblin's attacks were bruisingly hard, but the big Crane roared and turned his pain into strength, delivering another powerful swing at the goblin with the sacred naginata.

I think my total strife so far is:

The fury of Fu Leng might be great...but the Wrath of the Heavens was clearly superior. The shining blade came down. For a moment the goblin stood there...then it simply fell in two directions at once, neatly bisected by the Crane. Well that was one thing not coming back as a zombie for sure. And a half zombie would just be ridiculous.

The Crane's display of the Heaven's favor certainly was the last straw that caused the forces of Hell to draw back a bit.
