Mari hadn't built kites since acolyte days and the task brought back memories of young shugenja soaring over rocky cliffs among kites that served to further entice and excite the air kami there.
No cliffs today, but plenty of breeze when it was needed. She pulled ribbons from her waist to decorate the corners of the elegent paper contraption, and painted a remembered haiku celebrating fine autumn winds onto the upper surface.
