Despair and Wisdom: Imperial March

Yoshiko decided now that they had some down time to go hunting for foxes. People say that finding a fox in a festival and paying a tribute stick it will bring the hunter good luck.

"Ahh, I'm glad that I caught you Yoshiko-san. I decided that if we were going to hunt foxes, we should bring the proper bait." Yoshi opens a small bamboo box. Inside are a number of mounds, a fairly sweet smell.

"Inarizushi. Said to be irresistible to foxes"

"Do you think the would come?" She wondered. "Maybe the noises from the festival will scare them off." The woman pursed her lips and sighed.

"Perhaps the noise will, but what other day will we have to look?" Yoshi shrugs.

"Yoshiko-san looks back to her usual self and I am gladdened by it"

"Huh?" She chuckled " I left my guard down but I hope it was just a fluke." She prepared the trap with the bait.

Maybe Yoshiko's luck was not on her side yet she hoped it was on Yoshi's side.

Opportunity to provide assistance to Yoshi.

Once the two retreat a safe distance to observe the trap, the waiting begins.

After awhile, they see two foxes faces! But sadly, these are faux fox faces, as two of the village children wearing fox masks discover the trap.

"Hey, what do you think is in here? I think I smell food." offers the first faux fox.

"So? It's not yours." counteres the second faux fox.

"But someone lost it, and by the time they find it, it might not be good anymore. Plus I'm hungry." returns the first faux fox.

Yoshi isn't going to ruin the kids fun, so works on setting up his own trap.

"Yoshiko-san" He slides a piece of Inarizushi into his basic snare as bait while he chooses his words ."You were so out of it that you non-chalantly agreed to let me help you take your clothes off"

"Oh my! I said that?" She was quite surprised. Then again she tend to lose memories from time to time. Yoshiko chucked. "Heavy armor is not that easy to take off."

"A great many men would try." Yoshi offers a small smile. "But your complete disinterest has been noted. If anything it seemed you wanted Hametsu-san to be helping you"

"Ha... Hametsu san...oh my." She shook her head. "I doubt he would be of any help trying to find the perfect way to go about removing the armor or worse will try to clean each stain before taking it off... that could take a while."

Yoshi allows himself a very undignified snort. "Well I can't fault that logic. He'd be up all night polishing away." He seems immensely amused by this.

"It may be a surprise to you Yoshiko-san, that many men find you a beautiful woman. Even as a gentle and chaste soul myself it is still fummoxing that you seem completely indifferent to it. That's not to say that's anything wrong" he quickly tacks on. "Just that it sometimes makes me wonder if I'm too used to the courts that Im speaking a code I've forgotten others don't know"

Yoshiko blushed. "I don't get that many compliments so I always think they are just a joke or for someone else." She smiled. "We are samurai Yoshi san... and where I am from beauty is not a good trait."

"Well they aren't jokes. And I don't know if it's a bad thing either but" Yoshi shrugs "Look don't get me wrong, I'm one of the list I mentioned but, well, I don't how much fun you'd have sparring with someone with someone who just stands there and lets you go at it until you're spent."

"So I'm not trying to get at anything by inquiring as to your well-being. You're part of the 4th and that's enough. I just...want to make sure you know that if there's anything you need we have your back"

Yoshiko blushed even redder. "I don't know. I don't think I would have the heart to hit someone who doesn't deserve to be hit." She took a deep breath and smiled. "Yoshi san, I can cover your rear if you need me to cover it too." Yoshiko said playfully. "We are the 4th and I am a wall." The Hida laughted.

Oh that one's got to be on purpose!

"Likewise, I'm not going to lay out the moves for someone that uninterested."

Yoshi offers a small smile. "And I'll cover your rear as well, even it's built like a brick wall like you say"

Yoshiko nodded. "If you were a bit shorter you probably wouldn't have trouble watching my rear. I know you can have my back." She kept an eye to see that nothing has gone for the trap. The Hida sighed.

"Ha! I'm not used to height jokes! And believe me, I will gladly watch both" Yoshi jokes back. "Well, only one fox here"

"Are you sure there is only one fox?" The Hida winked. She sat down and watched the faux foxes run around. "Kasuga san..." She seemed to be contemplating something but quickly rubbed it off her mind. "Do you know where I can get some good festival food?"
