"Ah! Um, Daidoji-sama is too too kind." replied the nervous attendant.
The looked nervously to the owner who helped out with a large shrug. They weren't really supposed to drink while working...but samurai often time made such a demand.
Fotunately, they had a tool for just such an occassion. They brought out a very flat sake cup. Practically a saucer, it could hold no more than just a tiny bit of alcohol, so as not to impair them too badly.

Meanwhile, nearby...a Phoenix medic was scolding a pair of impaired Legionnaires. "We are marching tomorrow. Into Crab lands. And here you'll be lucky to stagger to your tent in your current shape! Go enjoy the festival we were told...do you think the healers are able to enjoy all this when they see all the work you're making for us tomorrow?" There may have been an attempt to subtly shame the pair into responsible celebrations.
It was successful at neither subtlety nor affecting the celebrants who ordered a new round of sake.
Her glare at the servers probably didn't help their day in the slightest.

"Your concerns are shared and the likely outcome has been forseen Isawa-san." A samurai in green robes falls in behind her, nursing his own bottle (bottles? There should not be that many full ones at hand). "The Fourth Kaisha has acquired extra miso and umeboshi and the cooks requested to make a double batch for breakfast." Yoshi eyes the pair that Mari had been chastising. " That a few would take their leave too far was inevitable." His eyes twinkle as he pours a pair of cups out in front of them and immediately tossing one back.
"Kasuga Yoshi of the 4th Kaisha, at your service"

Masayuki finds himself wandering from place to place, and stops to try the sake. He nearly....well, unfortunately cannot get up the courage to speak with anyone, and wanders off to the next place and then back to the bridge to watch more games.

by Agasha Daikumo
The big Dragon glowered at some local low ranking samurai from the village that spilled their drink on his clothing. Daikumo, looking at the man who was clearly drunk, said, "Maybe you're a bit too many cups in? Perhaps you shouldn't be drinking so much you lose your sense of balance. Or do you expect the folks from out of town to do your job for you while you imbibe like an imbecile?"
This sets off an argument between the two that lasts for a good 2 minutes before a magistrate has to come in and settle things down. The magistrate makes the local man apologize for soiling Daikumo's clearly sacred priestly robes. The Dragon may not have more status than the drunkard, but one of the two was clearly the idiot in the situation and it wasn't the upset visiting Agasha. While the magistrate smooths things over he chats a bit with Daikumo and the big man learns a bit of info that the magistrate had learned earlier that day.

"Definitely foreseen, we've laid in a fair supply of willow in the medical wagons of the Fifth." She eyes the second cup, but does not take it. "Isawa Mari, fifth kaisha, medic. Foreseeing the problem doesn't mean condoning it Kasuga-san, not given the dangers ahead." The cheerful flutter of ribbons is at odds with the serious set of her features. "It's a festival, and I don't wish to speak too much of what's ahead, but there's too many stories of those drawn in by corruption to take it lightly..." she glances at the pair she'd been bothering. "or to give in to fear."
The disturbance around a familiar Agasha draws her eye as well. "Or...getting into that sort of trouble," she adds, waving in the general direction of the minor argument.

Without a second beat Yoshi drains the second cup and pours two more. "Is that not fear of another sort? What waits for us will come, one way or the other. What was the lesson from Shinsei, "How sweet the stawberry"? The lion is out there, dreading all moments to come will not change that"

Mari offers a confused frown. "Strawberries don't leave one staggering or weakened in mind or spirit. It's idiotic to equate caution and mindfulness with fear. But if you want to argue that what you wanted to do anyway is a virtue, don't let me stop you. I've no illusions that you're looking to be convinced otherwise."
She turns to go. "But don't expect much sympathy when you trip into the lion once the door's open."
