[Day 5, Late Afternoon, Open] Fight For Your Right to Party

So the first effort at making nice earlier in the day had gone
spectacularly poorly... luckily, Kaigen was fleet of foot and hard of fist!
But still, he wanted to relax. Have a good time. But maybe this time,
not tell the horror story about the bandit-ravaged farm quite so loudly where people might take offense...
Ah yes, MUCH better.
With a rousing song about how they "wished they all could be Museru Mura Girls," he and several of the locals proceeded to have a VERY good time.

Using one opp to soak the strife, while shaking my fist at the roll Sakkaku provided. Going to give that one to the prior timeslot, and try again!

Edogawa raised a cup as he listened to the song. He was alone, sitting in the corner.
None of the locals seemed interested in anything he had to say, but he had heard a few things said.

The big Daidoji downed a cup of sake, then coughed. “Eh?” he gasped. “What
is this swill?!” After drinking last at the Western Hub Sake Works, Nobu found the local brew to be decidedly harsh by comparison.
“I’m so sorry, samurai! I’ll take it away immediately,” the attendant exclaimed apologetically. The attendant reached to take the bottle sitting in front of the legionnaire, but the big man closed a meaty fist around it first.
“Forget it,” Nobu growled, hovering protectively over the sake bottle. “I’ll still drink it."
Even mediocre sake was better than nothing.

"Daidoji-sama! Good work at the bridge this morning- glad we're usually on the same side. Oi! I'll have some of what he's having, the big man knows his sake!"
It was likely fortunate for Kaigen's view of the local brew that he'd already had enough of it to not realize he'd just ordered more of the same thing.

by Agasha Daikumo
While others nearby were attempting to relax alongside the locals, learn a bit about them and kick back, Daikumo was one of those trying to help folks relax. He was asked by a young boy that saw his immense size and asked if the giant could tell him about the battles he's fought. Daikumo considers it for a moment before looking down to the small kid and says, "I'll tell you about my cousin. I ain't got any good stories myself yet, but he's shared a few with me from his time with the legion. So the way he tells it..."
Perhaps surprisingly for the big blunt instrument of a smith and priest he actually does a pretty good job of telling the tale. He's extremely animated, energetic and full of life as he describes the daring heroics of his cousin and the unit he fought with. In particular he makes sure to emphasize the importance of working as a team, telling a story about how the unit had to work together to bring down a particularly dangerous enemy. He doesn't go into detail about the enemy, simply calling it "the beast", mostly because he never got details himself. He'd probably not shy from saying what the monster was if he actually knew, but the story was about the legion and the warriors fighting for the empire anyway so that didn't really matter. The story goes over exceptionally well among the crowd with the giant Daikumo not really reacting to their cheers. Despite the animated and exciting storytelling, he maintained a stern, taciturn expression and demeanor the entire time, adding weight and seriousness to the tale of military success.

"Ahh, Usagi-san! It is good to see you," the big Daidoji boomed. "Come, let us drink together; it's a fine way to spend the Mizurou Mara festival."
"You had not told me you had such a fine singing voice!"

"Fine for scaring crows, maybe!"
He grinned and joined the big Crane.
"But I try to make up for it with enthusiasm. It's been a while, how is life in the Fourth?"

"Well enough, well enough," Nobu said cheerfully, apparently pleased to have a drinking companion. "A lot of marching, of course, but such is our karma. I heard there was some excitement with bandits, but I never even got to see them. I imagine scouting must be a bit more exciting?"

"Well. A lot of the time, not particularly... but then you run into horrorshows like what we saw... eh. Not a good topic for a happy time."
He knocked back another cup.
"But we have our moments. Admittedly, I spend a lot of mine watching the horses leaving trails of dust, but such is life..."

"Eh, I imagine we will get all the excitement we can handle once we cross into the Crab provinces," Nobu predicted.
"What do you think of this Mura-Mizura festival?" the big Crane asked, waving his arm around to indicate everyone around. "Me, I'm all in favor of stopping to drink sake every time we cross a big river."

"I think it's a good time with good people. Never a bad thing! And it's the best thing for camaraderie we've had since we set out."
