While others nearby were attempting to relax alongside the locals, learn a bit about them and kick back, Daikumo was one of those trying to help folks relax. He was asked by a young boy that saw his immense size and asked if the giant could tell him about the battles he's fought. Daikumo considers it for a moment before looking down to the small kid and says, "I'll tell you about my cousin. I ain't got any good stories myself yet, but he's shared a few with me from his time with the legion. So the way he tells it..."
Perhaps surprisingly for the big blunt instrument of a smith and priest he actually does a pretty good job of telling the tale. He's extremely animated, energetic and full of life as he describes the daring heroics of his cousin and the unit he fought with. In particular he makes sure to emphasize the importance of working as a team, telling a story about how the unit had to work together to bring down a particularly dangerous enemy. He doesn't go into detail about the enemy, simply calling it "the beast", mostly because he never got details himself. He'd probably not shy from saying what the monster was if he actually knew, but the story was about the legion and the warriors fighting for the empire anyway so that didn't really matter. The story goes over exceptionally well among the crowd with the giant Daikumo not really reacting to their cheers. Despite the animated and exciting storytelling, he maintained a stern, taciturn expression and demeanor the entire time, adding weight and seriousness to the tale of military success.
