Adoka was happy with the kart he chose for bed. He woke up a little earlier and his back didn't hurt that much. He still took his painkillers and started walking around. He seemed to lack purpose, but in truth he was about to present himself to the senior Sc officer of the Legion.
He wasn't nervous. Bayushi-sama could become the death of him but could also make his life easier in so many ways, that nothing could really go wrong.
He was within los of the command stuff and looked for the local Lord Bayushi. He reminded himself that her pronoun is she and took a sip from his sake bottle.

It would have been harder to not find his target than find his target. The golden armor that the Bayushi wore caught and reflected the light from Lady Sun brilliantly.
Yogo Adoka stood out nearly as well, so it was not long before the two were able to speak.
"Yogo-san, is there something you wish to report?" she asked, uncertain of his intentions beyond seeking her out.

"That is a negative Bayushi -sama." He responded and bowed.
"Unless I have some memory loss, that is" He clarified.
"Head trauma is inconvenient like that." He added hoping that he actually didn't miss some clan gathering or something.

The bow was returned, though there was a slight frown on the Bayushi's face.
"Then you have a request?" she asked.

"That is positive." He responded.
"I wish to offer my services to you in any way you feel I can be of use." He added.

The frown is replaced with a look of understanding.
"Ahh, much like Yogo Yoshinori offered to Bayushi Kamiko on the eve of the Battle of Seven Strikes." she said, referring to people and places this particular Yogo was unlikely to be familiar with.
She nodded.
"I shall not make the same mistake she did, though I am not particularly well versed in your talents Yogo-san. Divination is the first possibility comes to my mind, are you particuarly adept at it?" she asks.

"My sensei is the keeper of Amaterasu Seido. He wouldn't allow me gempuku if I wasn't." He responded. For some reason this particular Bayushi stroke him as incompetent.
"Is there some particular event I should augur on?"

"There is not one future, but myriad spread like sands upon the shore," she mused whilst quoting another book the Yogo was unlikely to have read.
"Perhaps Yogo-san should augur the army's arrival at the Wall? Though I have heard that such is sometimes unpredictable. The future itself being warped by that which resides further South."

"In that case I will approach the Kuni and enlist their assistance in looking into that." He suggested.
"Would you like to hear my suggestion, since I know my skillset?"

"The gardener knows which roses smell sweetest." she replies in affirmation.

"Alow me to become your aide-de-camp." He offered.
"I can handle everything for you while you get to being the awesome Lady Bayushi everyone should look out for."

That earned a quizzical look and tilt of the head from the Bayushi.
"You wish to be transferred from your current duties to serve as my aide? A proposal ambitious enough to be mistaken for a Mantis, surely Yogo-san." she said, definitely not having had expected this sort of proposition.
"I would need to know a few things first. The first is what motivates you to request such?" she asked.

"More liberty to move around the camp, better access to information, better ability to project power, I like you." He replied.
He had prepared for anything she might ask. It wasn't the first time that he need to cajole a Lord Bayushi.

"A relatively honest answer, Yogo-san." she admitted. "And beyond your own talents as a shugenja and unfailing belief in yourself makes you qualified to be my aide-de-camp?"

"I am the only one who realizes how much your potential is underestimated with this assignment." He explained. "Lady Najimi till recently I was stationed in the City of Stories. I got here as a reward for having my head smashed while serving Lord Yojiro. My cognitive laps make me ideal for being your aide since I can always fake memory loss. Furthermore, I am a skilled preserver, a priest, who knows how to treat himself in hostile environment and can really assist you in more ways than you could possibly imagine." He added.
"Let's say that I have a feeling for some Bayushi."

Najimi frowned at that.
"Hm, one would have thought that the appropriate reward for such service leading to such an affliction would be a comfortable retirement to a temple of your choice, Yogo-san, not an appointment to an emerald legion marching south. One might wonder if someone was trying to get rid of you." she mused.
She considered the matter a moment.
"I can't see you serving as my aide-de-camp working particularly well, Yogo-san. That role requires meticulous attention to detail, and I'd really rather not miss an important staff meeting because you regretably forgot about it."
She paused a moment.
"However, I can put in a request to have you reassigned to serve as my personal spiritual advisor. It would give you mostly what you want, give myself another loyal person protecting me as we march South, and remove the worry that you might find yourself suddenly in battle without knowing what was going on." she offered.
It was, all told, a fairly generous offer, as Najimi was a little bit concerned of what might happen with the Yogo in battle. If he was this loyal even after what he'd been through, he deserved a little help from a fellow Scorpion.

"Bayushi-sama is magnanimous and wise." He agreed.
"This arrangement is perfect almost as much as you." He added.
"As for the assignment being a punishment, I doubt that since I requested it. I needed to travel South."

The Bayushi looked somewhat interested.
"Oh? For what reason does Yogo-san need to travel South?" she asked.

"I need to find the skull of a certain ancestor of mine or find an exorcist." He replied.

Najimi nods.
"It sounds like you need to speak with the Kuni in either case." she said.
There was a concerned look for the poor Yogo before her.
"Regardless of whether or not the request for a transfer is granted, I will make sure that once we reach the Wall you are connected with some experts among them to find the help that you need, Yogo-san." she promised.
She looked over to the rest of the command unit.
"But if there is nothing else you need at this time Yogo-san, I have other duties to attend to." she said, preparing to take her leave.
