Mukai launched another arrow, this time with the standard white fletching, that buried itself in the fallen samurai's throat.

It would not be an immediate kill but it would get the job done while it choked on its own vile blood.

Of course she had heard tales from the Crab and knew that a more complete job was better.

"I can't give you orders, Daidoji-san, but if you'd be so kind as to use that fancy naginata to free this thing's head... please."

Opportunity eats 2 Strife

Mukai would rather give a messy death than risk missing so that's a 13 Severity with the +10 from Unconscious - starts at Agonizing Death and if not reduced below a 7 he'll still get Bleeding which means next Strife die he keeps after that is 20 Severity)

Arrow in its neck, the thing gurgles sloppily as it keeps twitching, a spider spasming as a wasp stings it to inject its young.

Yoshiko knew that this creature must be destroyed. The towering woman took a breath and smashed down at the evil Commander. Her heart was getting heavy yet she pressed on. She must protect her friends from the evil Shadowlands.

Like a heavy foot treading on a sodden, decaying melon, Yoshiko's tetsubo thunders down and leaves only a blackening pulp atop the commander's neck. A couple of teeth plink off of her greaves.

Around you, the sounds of the advancing Legion ring out, battle cries piercing the shrieks of goblins and other things that, feeling the loss of their commander's will, begin to turn and flee from the bright banners and brighter blades commanded by Tekkan and the ingenious siege engines of the Kaiu craftspeople.

The Empire has won the battle.

But one sentry high upon the Tower looks south and sees another figure, mounted and looking on for a moment before turning away and vanishing into the distance.

The war is not yet done.

Oh, right, I almost forgot:

Every PC who posted in the Battle, any Stage, receives a Major Glory gain. You contributed notably to the Legion's victory!

PCs in the fight against Kippei gain an additional 3 Glory.

Yoshiko, and ONLY Yoshiko, make your roll.

Yoshiko tried to look for something.

Opportunity to lower strife by 2
Composure 9/12
As the forces prepared to the wall, the stench of blood and the acrid smell of the Shadowlands burning like fire, Yoshiko thought she saw something...that saya could it be?

It sure looked like it. But things in the Shadowlands were often not what they seemed. Would she grab what clearly seemed to be her family's missing daisho, or give it up for lost? She could almost hear the jade burning away as the prolonged exposure to the Shadowlands make it clear the land was trying to corrupt the heroes the longer she doddled.

Would she grab it and flee to the safety of the wall, or give up what may be her only chance to recover the lost daisho, too scared that it was yet another trick of the shadowlands?

The woman was in the verge of tears and that glimmer of hope that can soon disappear. She wanted it so hard to grasp it to redeem her name and return home triumphant but could it be true? Is it an illusion of the corruption to lure her further in? If she took it, she would keep a promise but at what expense? What if it isn't real, does she risk it?

Yoshiko sighed... her eyes welled but she knew that the longer she dwelled the more she risked her friends. With a heavier heart she shook her head and prefer the shame rather than risk her friends more. To protect them from corruption she doesn't need such thing. She has proven herself by taking down Kippei with her trusty tetsubo.

Honor and soul would mean nothing if there is none to show.

Another deep breath, another look. She bowed out to return another day when she would be better prepared to find the way. Even if it would not be back to her hands until then... let the jade fade and the storm continue to press on.

"A good thought, Utaku-sama; but it seems Hida-san has taken care of this for us," Nobu said, with a tilt of his head towards the victorious Crab.

"Well fought, everyone," the big Crane added. "The day is ours!" He raised his gleaming naginata in triumph.
