Re: Utaku Mukai - Emphasis on the Mukai (Mukai Q&A)
Beyond that, sorry I didn't end up interacting with Mukai. I think she leaves as the character making the largest contribution overall (from events) despite your time constraints, so she's definitely made a mark. I feel you on the lack of time and interaction and, yeah, Sakkaku continues to love me...

Re: Utaku Mukai - Emphasis on the Mukai (Mukai Q&A)
I will say I initially expected Mukai to be more of a support character in battle. She has a lot of kata and I never even used one of them. As soon as she enters battle it's all explosions no opportunities.

Re: Utaku Mukai - Emphasis on the Mukai (Mukai Q&A)
Beware the DREADED FORM QUESTIONS! 1. Biggest curveball Mukai threw you? No big curveballs this time around. She was a pretty straightforward character and didn't encounter much that would push her outside her initial concept. If I had more of a chance to interact and be social maybe something woul...

Re: Revel in Despair (Saibankan Q&A)
1. Applying Advaantages and Disadvantages. At Kyuden Shika, I was like "Hey I trust you all to know whether it applies or not, but ask if you're unsure." While I like this level of trust, and I could see that working better at the tabletop level, it just put a huge bottleneck on events because peop...

Re: Utaku Mukai - Emphasis on the Mukai (Mukai Q&A)
What did you like most about the game narratively? What did you like least about the game narratively? It's funny that in a way they're both the same thing. It was a solid, straightforward story. Which gave it a strong throughline but meant there didn't feel like much 'side content' to explore. Alt...

Wherever is narratively convenient for the next game, of course!Fukurokujin wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 12:24 amIf Mukai had her pick of next posting, where would she want to go?
But, more seriously, anything that keeps her away from home and gives her a chance for glory. She's not picky.

Utaku Mukai - Emphasis on the Mukai (Mukai Q&A)
The usual refrain of real life draining most of the opportunity I had to truly get involved with the game outside of events but I had a blast playing and thanks to those I did get to be social with.
Mukai will likely reprise but she's also not the secrets type so ask away.

What obstacles of adapting the new system did you feel you overcame so much that we might not have even noticed them?
What obstacles arose that you had not foreseen or feel were not cleanly overcome?
Fuck/Mary/Kill - Hana, Hana, or Hana?
And, of course, great game! Thanks for doing it!

Though not as skilled with the blade as she was with the bow Mukai was still not going to slack in making sure none of those who fell today became the enemy of tomorrow. Re: GM Questions
I'd guess that the types listed in the core book are common enough to need no adjustment. That said, Fields of Victory has an inset (p. 89) regarding some specialized arrowheads. Working from that, I might in a future game call the price 50% and the Rarity one higher than for the common arrow. Migh...

Re: GM Questions
I might just be missing it but I don't think the book actually gives a price/rarity for the non-willow leaf arrows.
It lists their effects (-2 to Physical Resistance for Armor Piercing, +2 Deadliness for Flesh Cutter) but I can't find how to actually obtain/make them.

Note to self: Next time playing an archer invest in some Flesh Cutters for when the time comes to actually finish something off.

Re: Stage 4: Kill the Commander
Mukai launched another arrow, this time with the standard white fletching, that buried itself in the fallen samurai's throat. It would not be an immediate kill but it would get the job done while it choked on its own vile blood. Of course she had heard tales from the Crab and knew that a more comple...

Re: GM Questions
Sai seemed to think that Sacred bypassed even armor worn by Tainted targets.
Fukurokujin seems to be approaching it otherwise.
I'm cool with either ruling just thought it should be straightened out for consistency moving forward.

Well no fancy tricks on Round 1 it seems but Mukai definitely left her mark anyway.

Re: Stage 4: Kill the Commander
Hachiko, barely needing prompting from her rider after all these years, moves just enough to keep their foe in eyesight amid the swirling fog. From her quiver, most of which are fletched in white, Mukai draws forth an arrow that instead bears bright green feathers. Feathers that match the head of ja...

Re: Battle Event Coordination
Probably won't be acting first. If I get decent opportunities and the enemy is very mobile I can try to Entangling Terrain them. Otherwise I can try to lower their resistance for those without Sacred weapons (Sacred already ignores all resistance of Tainted/Otherworldly characters). Sadly I only hav...
